The Power Broker — Robert Caro

The Power Broker

Robert Caro’s books have been on my shelves for years but I’ve only read Working due to their length. I decided this was the year I was going to tackle The Power Broker. Phenomenal. Fantastic writing.

There Is No Antimemetics Division — qntm

There Is No Antimemetics Division

I saw all the hype on X about this book and waited patienly for it to come back in print. This bends your mind in the way great sci-fi should.

The Picture of Dorian Gray — Oscar Wilde

The Picture of Dorian Gray

Another one that moved up the TBR due to all the hype I was seeing online. I really should read classics more often. Another fantastic read. Great ending.

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow — Gabrielle Zevin

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow

Still think about this book often. The characters are so well written. Couldn’t put it down.

Ametora: How Japan Saved American Style — W. David Marx

Ametora

I’m obsessed with all things Japan and this book was a fascinating look at how American fashion influenced Japanese style. If you have any interest in fashion or Japan, I highly recommend it.

Dungeon Crawler Carl — Matt Dinniman

Dungeon Crawler Carl

Just an entertaining read all around. Didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. Have a few more books in the series to get to.

James — Percival Everett

James

I read four or five Percival Everett books this year and this one stood out the most. Lives up to the hype.

The City and Its Uncertain Walls — Haruki Murakami

The City and Its Uncertain Walls

Last but certainly not least. I have the goal of reading all of Murakami’s books (only a few left now) and this one was fantastic. My favorite writer for sure.
